As NABJ President, I am a proud witness to a renewed effort by members to recommit to our organization, especially during these difficult times. Now that NABJ is in its new national headquarters at the University of Maryland, we are preparing to celebrate our 35th anniversary at this year’s NABJ Convention and Career Fair in San Diego, California, July 28 – August 1, 2010.



NABJ Looking for Summer Interns

An NABJ Program Assistant (P.A.) plays a key role in the implementation of programs at the National Association of Black Journalists in College Park, Maryland. In the office, they assist in the coordination and production of convention workshops, plenary sessions and awards programs at the national convention – contacting print, online and broadcast journalism organizations for production materials necessary for convention producers.



NABJ Mourns the Loss of a Founder

The National Association of Black Journalists celebrates the legacy and life of Reginald “Reggie” Bryant. Described as “iconoclastic and bombastic,” Bryant was a founder of the National Association of Black Journalists and the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists.



NABJ launches search for new executive director

Dear NABJ Member,

I am writing this letter to inform you that after more than three years of service, Karen Wynn Freeman has resigned as Executive Director of the National Association of Black Journalists. We wish her well in her future endeavors.

Freeman’s career highlights include helping to revitalize the national organization and strengthen ties with members, supporters, and sponsors. In the interim, she will be working with media consultant, Drew Berry, to close existing business and retain partnerships.
